- P resident Buhari approves Opening of Schools for examination student s * Interstate borders now open President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the following as part of ease of lockdown. *Permit Interstate travels between 5am to 9:59pm. *Students in graduating classes like Primary 6, J.S.S 3, S. S. 3 are to return to school immediately. students will be made to put on face masks compulsorily and observe all other protocols. *Domestic flights to resume as soon practicable. *Curfew effect from Tuesday 30th June - Monday 27th July, 2020 now from 10pm - 4am. This was made known in today's Presidential Task Force Briefing on Covid-19.

Here is an oppourtunity! The broadcast industry in Akwa Ibom state is gradually building up. From a monopoly of AKBC with the only Radio and TV and latter NTA 12 Uyo, a federally owned TV station. Much later, another federally owned Station, this time radio joined in. With Radio Nigeria Atlantic FM Uyo on ground it was state and Federal government broadcast stations branding Radio (AKBC Radio & Atlantic FM) and (AKBC TV & NTA). Today we now have private sector operators branding, PLANET FM, INSPIRATION FM, COMFORT and most recently PASSION and EXCEL FM. Don't forget we had the community Radio settings of the campuses in UNIYO and in HERITAGE of Heritage Polytechnic in Eket. DAAR Communication, operators if Ray power/AIT following a ground breaking in 2015 are being awaited in Abak. Let me shock you, more are in the pipeline! Workshop Advocates Community Radio To Deepen Democratic Governance

Admin Enugu, the coal city of Nigeria was host to community radio advocates at a two-day workshop to expand citizens’ participation in the democratic process and particularly to build the capacity of grassroots groups for active participation in the deepening of democracy in Nigeria through the use of community radio. The workshop, which held Enugu was organised by the Institute for Media and Society (IMS) in collaboration with the Nigeria Community Radio Coalition (NCRC) was supported by the Democratic Governance for Development (DGD II) project of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
