AKWA IBOM-TRINIDAD & TOBAGO STRENGTHEN TIES

Akwa Ibom State Government is to collaborate with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, to develop the proposed industrial park in the state. Governor Udom Emmanuel gave the indication when theHigh Commissionerof the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Nigeria, Mr Wendell Carlton De Landro, visited him at the Government House, Uyo. The governor said the state government is providing infrastructures in the industrial park noting that over thirty industries are expected in the estate. The governor appealed to the High Commissioner of the Trinidad and Tobago and other international investors to consider investing in the state as the state government has provided an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. Governor Emmanuel hinted that the state-owned Ibom Airlines will soon commence international flights when the Terminal at the Victor Attah International Airport is completed. High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Nigeria, Mr Wendell Carlton De Landro, said his country would collaborate with the state in the area of tourism, agriculture and aviation. He noted that with the Airport and Ibom Airlines, it will be easier to move goods and persons from Trinidad and Tobago to other parts of the world using the Victor Attah International Airport as a hub.
