PDP YOUTH SUPPORT GROUP TO CONFER GOVERNOR EMMANUEL WITH PRESTIGIOUS YOUTH AWARD

The three million-man strong PDP Youth Restoration Organization (YRO), a foremost youth Mobilization and support group of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP with members in each of the 774 local government areas of the county have concluded plans to host a series of Conferences.

In a statement by the YRO National Media Director and Chairman conference Central Planning committee, Comrade Charles Bassey, the event which will be held in four geo-political zones of the country is part of its activities aimed at sign posting and showcasing the quality leadership offered by the PDP in the states it controlled.

Comrade Bassey who also doubles as the Akwa Ibom state coordinator of the PDP Youth Restoration Organization explained that Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state Capital was chosen to host the first of the series of conferences. 

The statement adds that the maiden edition  would be for the south south and south East geo-political Zones. 

It further revealed that Bauchi state would host to PDP youths from the North East while the North West and North Central will jointly host the Grand finale of the PDP youth conference in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

 The PDP-YRO would move to the south west where it would hold a World press conference in Lagos, the nation’s commercial capital to round up its pre-election activities. 

A statement from the Media directorate of the PDP youth support organization says the SS/SE Zonal conference & Awards night of the PDP Youth Restoration Organization billed for Uyo, Akwa Ibom State will hold in April this year and has as its Theme, ‘GOOD GOVERNANCE AS CATALYST FOR PEACE AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA,. 

The event which would be jointly chaired by their Excellences, Obong (Arch) Victor Attah, former Governor, Akwa Ibom State and Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor, Anambra state will have the National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as distinguished special Guest of Honor.

All PDP Governors in the South South and South East will be Special Guests of Honor, while Chairman, PDP, Akwa Ibom state Chapter alongside the chairmen of all the chapters in the South South and South East will be Special Guests. 

The statement further reveals that the event would also bring to the state all PDP Governors in the two zones who will also be honored with distinguished awards for quality Service Delivery in leadership and Good Governance. The Chairman of the Central planning committee further explained that Akwa Ibom state Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel was singled out for a special honor. 

According to the statement, “the PDP Youth restoration organization, YRO during its NWC and General meeting respectively, held in Abuja on Friday, the 14th of January 2022, following assessments of the visionary development strides in Akwa Ibom which have not only prepared the youths for the future, but also prepared the future for them and also impacted not only in the Economic development of Akwa Ibom state but Nigeria as a whole, had resolved that your tremendous visionary strides is worthy of being commended and celebrated.” 

“Subsequently the PDP Youth Restoration Organization besides the honor of distinguished award for quality Service Delivery in leadership and Good Governance which would be bestowed of His Excellency, the Governor of Akwa Ibom state and all PDP Governors from the two Zones, the House has unanimously resolved to confer on him the Prestigious honor of, ‘GREAT ICON OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA’ in recognition of his development strides which are mainly targeted towards the youths” the statement added. 

 In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, the National coordinator of YRO, Comrade (Amb) Mohammed Jamil Barau while commenting on the importance of the conference expressed confidence that the nation-wide conferences across the geo political zones would grow the love of Nigeria to the party. 

According to him the events were veritable platforms where the sterling quality of leadership delivered by the PDP Governors in states where they control would be showcased and celebrated. 

In his words, "it would further endear several more Nigerians, particularly the youths to the PDP and would inform their decision to stick with the party as their preferred choice come 2023".

He however called on nigerians, particularly those who just turned eighteen recently and those who have not registered to take advantage of INEC's window period for the continuous voter registration, CVR to ensure they get registered to vote adding that their social and economic destinies lie in the power to choose credible PDP leaders via their Voter cards
