NLC BOSS, JOE AJAERO, RELEASED AFTER HONORING POLICE INVITATION

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, has been released after visiting the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Headquarters today, August 29. Ajaero was invited by the police last week to answer questions on alleged involvement in terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony. He arrived at the IRT premises at 10:17 am alongside his legal team, including Femi Falana, SAN, and other senior NLC officials. Ajaero's release comes after a brief interrogation, and the NLC has confirmed his return to the NLC headquarters. The IRT is the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigeria Police Force, responsible for investigating high-profile cases. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story. Akwa Ibom CP, Ayilara Dies in Lagos

The Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara is dead CBSnewsTrend gathered that CP Ayilara died early this morning, Thursday, 29 August 2024 at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. The Akwa Ibom state police commissioner was said to have gone for prostate cancer surgery which took place on Wednesday, 28 August, 2024 before he eventually died early Thursday, 29 August, 2024. Colleagues told CBSnewsTrend that he was hale and hearty on Monday, 26 August 2024, during the pullout ceremony for Assistant Inspector General of Police, Yetunde Longe. Reports say he walked into the hospital on Wednesday for the surgery but unfortunately did not make it. Following Islamic rites, he will be buried today, Thursday, 29 August 2024. PORTABLE BLASTS DAVIDO FOR REFUSING TO HELP HIM

  Controversial Nigerian artist Portable has turned to social media to criticize Davido for failing to deliver the verse he promised him. Following their argument in Atlanta, Davido refused to grant Portable a verse on his new single. It would be recalled that trouble between the duo started in June 2024 when Portable claimed Davido gave him bad advice during dinner in Atlanta, United States. Sequence to this, Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram. Portable, who shared his latest release on his own Instagram page on Sunday, stated that the song was supposed to include the verse that Davido promised. He wrote on Instagram: “Na who help you be your helper; who promises you fit change mind. As @davido no gree give me verse on this song, I don kuku drop myself. Star. Don’t beg to shine. Who go help you no go stress you.”  

ABDUCTED FORMER DELTA COMMISSIONER FREED

  Reports just reaching our news desk show that the abducted former Technical Education commissioner in Delta state, Joan Mrapkpor has gotten her freedom from the den of her abductors,  CBSNewstrend  can exclusively report. The former House of Assembly and House Representatives member was kidnapped on July 30, 2024, by armed men at her church, ‘King Jesus and I’ off DBS Road in Asaba around 4pm while the gunmen left two of her orderlies dead and a POS operator, who was allegedly struck by a stray bullet. It was gathered that abductors of Mrakpor had established contact with her family and demanded a ransom of N1 billion as a condition for her release, but her family however appealed for a lesser amount of N300 million to N500 million. A reliable source who hinted  CBSNewstrend  of her release disclosed that a ransom was allegedly paid before her release but declined to mention the specific amount paid to her abductors before she was freed. The Okoye Brothers fight Dirty...

  Singer Peter Okoye (Mr. P) has written an open letter to his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) in response to Paul’s recent interview about their second split.  Mr. P addressed Paul’s claims that he wrote 99% of P-SQUARE’s songs and discredited Paul’s statement that their song “EjeAjo” was a failure.  Mr. P lists several successful songs he wrote and contributed to, feeling undervalued and disrespected by Paul’s comments.
