ABDUCTED FORMER DELTA COMMISSIONER FREED

Reports just reaching our news desk show that the abducted former Technical Education commissioner in Delta state, Joan Mrapkpor has gotten her freedom from the den of her abductors, CBSNewstrend can exclusively report.

The former House of Assembly and House Representatives member was kidnapped on July 30, 2024, by armed men at her church, ‘King Jesus and I’ off DBS Road in Asaba around 4pm while the gunmen left two of her orderlies dead and a POS operator, who was allegedly struck by a stray bullet.

It was gathered that abductors of Mrakpor had established contact with her family and demanded a ransom of N1 billion as a condition for her release, but her family however appealed for a lesser amount of N300 million to N500 million.

A reliable source who hinted CBSNewstrend of her release disclosed that a ransom was allegedly paid before her release but declined to mention the specific amount paid to her abductors before she was freed.

CBSNewstrend reliably gathered that Mrapkpor gained her freedom in the late hours of Friday, August
9, 2024.

When contacted tonight on the release of the former commissioner, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the release but declined to give further details.
