SUSPECTED MURDER:

 The Rivers State Police Command at about 0530Hrs, on Wednesday 24th January stormed Ibe Street in Elekahia, PH City Local Government Area

where one Chiburuoma Boms 'f' 19yrs was allegedly strangled to death. Her remains were later forced into a Septic Tank by persons said to be her relations. 

In a statement by the Commands Police Public Relations Officer, DSP NNAMDI OMONI said Men of the Elekahia Police Station acting on a tip off arrested Six persons suspected to be involved in the crime.

The suspects have made useful statements which is helping the police in their investigation. 

Meanwhile, the Corpse of the victim have been evacuated from the Pit and taken to the Mortuary awaiting autopsy. 

The statement further said the Commissioner of Police had ordered for the transfer of the matter  to State CID, while efforts are on to arrest other suspects at large. 

The State Commissioner of Police, Zaki M Ahmed appealed to residents of Elekahia to remain calm as the Police was poised to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to justice, urging the public to be vigilant and report all suspicious movements or persons to the Police.
